The high octane gas is more powerful at clearing out the clogged catalytic converter. It's worth a try.
Do it as I explained in my article. Wait till your tank is almost empty so you don't dilute it with lower octane gas already in the tank.
Once you have driven with the full tank of high octane gas, clear the error code with a diagnostic device such as the one I use (mentioned in the article). Drive a few miles as I instructed to see if the check engine light comes back on.
If the light stayed off by the time your status is clear (need to confirm this with the diagnostic tool as mentioned in my article), then it worked.
