Dad Gives Solid Tips for Winterizing Your Car

It’s important to remember your car has wintery needs.

As temperatures get colder, you need to start paying extra attention to your car's well-being. Before you start shelling out cash to a mechanic, know that there are measures you can take yourself to ensure that you vehicle is ready for the winter.

TikTok creator @dadadvicefrombo has a video for those who don't know where to start. Make a copy of his checklist so you won't run into any trouble once the colder weather comes around.

According to this TikTok dad, the first check you need to make is on your lights. Make sure they're in working condition and that the lenses are clean. Next, and I had no idea about this trick, you should use a quarter to make sure your tires have the right amount of pressure and tread. Apparently, if you can see the top of George Washington's head, you need new treads.

The next thing you need to check is your antifreeze/coolant and your windshield wiper fluid. Make sure both are full. While you're at it, give your wiper blades a look over and make sure they're working fine. Replace them if they're leaving streaks on your windshield.

"Thank you, dad! I never knew any of this. It’s my first time driving through this kind of weather. I ain’t prepared yet," @auroracollins56 wrote in the comments section.

It's so awesome that we have people like him teaching us basics that we may not have learned from our own fathers. If you're about to see some harsh weather, follow this dad's advice and stay safe!
