This Hack Defrosts Your Windows In a Pinch

This would have saved my behind on some many occasions when I was running late.

It's the most annoying time of the year. A time when the windows on your car frost over and make you late for work. Before you start boiling water or purchase an ice scraper, check out some tips that can help you defrost your windows in mere seconds.

TikTok user @noelskeysss shared a method she learned from Hank Green, and it is truly genius.

@noelskeysss revealed that she keeps a spray bottle full of 70% isopropyl alcohol for when her windows frost over. She sprays some onto her windows, turns on the wipers, and boom. The frost is gone in seconds.

Because alcohol has a low freezing point, it works fast to break down the ice. Some suggest making a mixture of one part water and two parts 70% isopropyl alcohol and keeping it in your car during the winter.

Commenters under the video chimed in with their own solutions to defrost windows. "[Isopropyl alcohol] can degrade the silicone around this area over time too. it's best to get the washer fluid that is intended for this," @starthatchild suggested. "I spent $20 and got a windshield cover. Takes 2 minutes to put on and never scrape or sweep no or ice off the car again," @beanyweanie said. "There is such thing as defrost spray. It’s like $4 for 32 oz and you don’t need to spray a lot," @kelltries added.

I, for one, never knew that there were so many solutions for this common issue, but I guess that's what I get for living in California. Now I'm just mourning all the time I lost boiling water when all I needed were some sprits of alcohol!
