High-Quality Stainless Steel License Plate Frames by NYLATA

I wanted to share my mission to find high-quality license plate frames for my truck because the ones I have on there now are starting to look a little shabby and need updating. The NYLATA license plate frame I purchased was a bit pricey, but I did manage to find a coupon code (BLPF15YT) for 15% off, which made the purchase price a little easier to swallow. So here's my story and I'm sticking to it!

Most dealership or aftermarket plate frames are made of plastic or cheap metal that will rust quickly. Other problems the dealer-installed or aftermarket license plate frames are they're full of advertising and cause rattle type noises. While doing my research, I noticed a lot of license plate frames only have two screw holes for the top of the plate, which leaves the lower half of the license plate loose and able to vibrate with turbulence or high winds while driving on the freeway.

A two-screw system will also cause a rattle noise when closing a trunk or lift-gate, driving on rough roads, or playing the bass loud; I notice this a lot when a driver pulls up alongside me with the music cranked. I don't mind the music, but the license plate frames are buzzing like a cell phone vibrating on a tin pie plate. A NYLATA 4-screw plate frame will secure the license plate at all four corners, and they also supply foam tape to further minimize vibrations under these conditions.

Rust and Corrosion

NYLATA plate frames are made with high-quality stainless steel, which will keep them from rusting (just keep in mind that nothing in this world is entirely rust -or corrosion-proof). Using the supplied stainless screws and adding a little white lithium grease or vaseline to the screw holes in the vehicle body (depending on how your license plate frames are secured to the vehicle) will minimize rust ane corrosion.

NYLATA plate frames did have some rusting issues when they were first released; they were caused by some non-stainless steel spring clips inside the anti-theft screw caps. Thanks to their excellent customer service department, who are friendly and listen to their customer's complaints, this concern has been resolved. The company redesigned the caps and removed the inferior material causing the rust problem.

Attention to Detail

While handling the plate frames, I notice all corners are very smooth with no sharp edges anywhere, even on the inside of the plate frames. For some customers, it's not that big of a deal to have rough edges. Still, for me, it is, and I appreciate the time spent on research and development to provide an upscale product. Again, it just goes to show how the company pays attention to detail to deliver a quality product compared to its competition.

Anti-Theft Feature

The plate frames come with 16 stainless steel screws, 8 self-tapping screws for plastic body grommets or speed-nuts, and 8 machine thread screws for welded nuts or rivnuts. The screws are inserted into the screw cup and tightened onto the vehicle. Once all screws are installed, and you're happy with the way the plates are mounted, then you install the anti-theft caps into all 8 screw cups.

Once these anti-theft caps are installed, it is difficult to remove them. This is why they are anti-theft caps. If they were easy to remove, they wouldn't be anti-theft. The anti-theft caps give the plate frames a polished look by hiding the unsightly hardware; some people like this feature for the looks as well as for the protection from having their license plates stolen.

In my opinion, thieves are not going to fuss with trying to remove these anti-theft caps in a big-box store parking lot when the vehicle next to yours has two screws holding the plate on the car, and one is already backing out of its holder.
