Heat makes it easier to get the old sticker off. Hence a candle. We do have a heat gun that works pretty well, but I would have had to walk to the shop to retrieve it, and being lazy, I opted for the next best source of heat.
A butter knife worked well for getting behind the warmed up sticker to peel or scrape it off. The butter knife also worked great for putting on the new sticker. No fumbling to hang on to it. Just center, and press, and voila. Done.
