This hardware design, with floating calipers, is typically found in European automobiles. There are no abutment clips. The inside pad is spring-mounted into the caliper piston and remains fixed. Both pads ride on the caliper bracket's upper and lower rails. An external spring presses the caliper onto the caliper bracket to prevent vibration. As the pads wear, the caliper moves on the two pins that hold the caliper to the caliper bracket.
